Nestled atop the picturesque Hills in Nashik, spanning a total area of 6,400 square feet. The design philosophy reflects an intricate balance of seclusion and openness, marrying historical simplicity with luxurious modernity, and crafting an experience that is both immersive and intimate.

The resort’s location on a hilltop provides a natural vantage point, yet its entry is intentionally concealed. At first glance, the building appears hidden, drawing the visitor through a discreet entrance that ensures privacy from the outside world. This careful orchestration of seclusion invites exploration, as the journey to the heart of the resort is both revealing and gradual.

Upon entering, guests are led into a central interior courtyard that serves as the core of the resort. The courtyard is designed as a breathing space, where light and nature blend seamlessly, offering glimpses of the surrounding landscape through thoughtfully placed openings. The design concept emphasises the traditional idea of inward-facing spaces, typical of historical Indian architecture, where the external world fades away and the focus shifts to the serenity of the private domains within.

From the courtyard, pathways fan out, directing visitors to distinct zones that balance privacy and community. The front areas of the resort are designed for social gatherings and communal activities, while the more private spaces nestle lower on the terrain, tucked away amidst the contours of the hill, offering solitude and relaxation.

A strong aesthetic inspired by Moroccan, Balinese, and Indian influences defines the resort’s atmosphere. The spaces evoke a sense of timelessness through the fusion of off-white and neutral tones in the walls and floors, creating a calming backdrop that highlights the vibrancy of the furnishings and plantation. Indian-inspired furniture adds warmth and character, while the lush, colourful Bougainvillea plants provide a contrast, enhancing the outdoor and indoor environments.

The architectural design takes inspiration from ancient building traditions, especially the use of mud plaster and minimal intervention, referencing historical structures where materials were natural and simple. This approach ensures that the resort, while modern, feels rooted in a more sustainable and organic tradition.

The crowning feature of the resort is an expansive “The Edge” pool perched on the top-most contour of the land. Offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys, this pool provides a sense of liberation—where the horizon meets the water, and the cool breeze enhances the experience. The space invites guests to disconnect from the world and bask in the serene beauty of nature.

Each private space within the resort is designed with its own secluded courtyard, making every room an intimate escape. These courtyards are not just ornamental but also practical, allowing for personal moments in quiet, lush gardens that frame views of the rolling hills. The resort’s careful layout ensures that these private spaces are woven together in harmony, allowing for natural movement and effortless transitions between the different areas.

Drawing from the aesthetics of Moroccan and Balinese resorts, this retreat encapsulates an exotic yet tranquil vibe, underpinned by the gentle, meditative atmosphere typical of such locations. The architectural form, combined with the surrounding natural environment, immerses guests in a sensory experience that blends rich cultural influences with the natural elements of the hill.

The resort offers an escape from modern life, inviting its visitors to reconnect with the simplicity and raw beauty of natural materials. It is a place where design is not just about visual appeal but about crafting an experience that engages all the senses, soothing the mind and soul.

This private resort on this hill is a destination where architecture and nature coexist harmoniously. It is designed to provide a tranquil retreat from the world, with spaces that feel timeless yet connected to the local context. Every detail, from the concealed entrance to the edge pool, has been carefully crafted to ensure that guests experience both privacy and luxury, all within the embrace of nature.
